The beauty of this dish is you can add any additional veggies you’d like and sub any meat, either ground or chunked.
* Spicy Italian Sausage Alfredo *
1 lb bulk spicy italian sausage
1 medium onion, chunked
Brown sausage and remove to plate, leaving grease behind in pan.
Cook onions in grease until slightly softened and a bit browned. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and add cooked sausage back to pan.
To the pan, add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and whisk in 3/4 cup of shredded parmesan cheese. Season with a pinch each of salt, white pepper and habanero powder then allow to bubble until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Serve with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese!
This would be great over zoodles or seared squash which you could make into a lasagna in a 9×13 dish by layering the squash and meat sauce. Add mozzarella cheese after each layer and bake for 20 min at 350 degrees.
